Vernon, OH See more about 'Longaberger JW Collection Corn Basket/Protector 1991' Description Up for your consideration is a piece of the JW Collection made through Longaberger.  This item is the 1991 JW Corn Basket.  The basket measures 17" in diameter by 11.5" high.  The protector is also included.  Despite the age of this basket it is still in excellent condition.  There are no flaws or cracks.  The item has been gently displayed and than stored.  The Bentley Guide values this basket from the 07-08' guide at a high of $365.00.  John Wendell Longaberger was known in and around Dresden for his basket-making ingenuity. So it isn't surprising that area farmers came to J.W. in the early 1920's asking for a sturdy basket fit for the daily wear and tear of farm living.  This basket was the ninth in the series, others include; Medium Market, Waste, Apple, Two-Pie, Bread & Milk, Gathering, Bankers Waste, Large Berry, Cake, Easter and Umbrella basket(s).  All items come from a smoke free home too.
