Description
Original "Missile Savings Bank" litho tin toy mechanical bank. The bank was made in Japan. The bank is marked on the bottom "MADE IN JAPAN" & the box is marked on the top panel at the bottom "MADE IN JAPAN". We are estimating that the bank was made circa 1958-1962 or so.The bank is in fresh, bright, mint, unused, new, unimprovable condition. The bank was probably not any nicer the day that it was made!!! Actually, if you had been at the factory the day that the bank was made I suspect that you would have had to pick through a lot of them to find one anywhere near this nice!!! To be absolutely technically accurate approximately 99.9999% of the original litho is present. We have tested the bank once to establish that it is indeed working properly. But, we have not used a coin. So, there is not any wear to the coin holder. Underneath the base there is not even the slightest speck of friction. Underneath the base shows up as fresh, bright, & smooth. The coin trap under the base has a subtle insignificant smooth bend at one corner. There are a few tiny specks of paint gone from the center of the coin trap. The pivot arm inside of the coin trap which holds the coin trap flush to the bank is a little loose & could probably use a slight bend to optimize the correct tension inside of the trap. This is an extremely minor point which probably 99% of most sellers would not even address as it is of little, if any, consequence. However, we try to address even the most minor points. The coin trap will stay up close to flush on the base just as it is. But, it would seem that originally the interior arm of the trap was bent at a slightly different angle so as to make the trap sit just a tad tighter. The bank is in excellent working condition. All of the components to the bank are entirely original in all ways. There are no repairs, no chips, no breaks, & no touchups. This bank has truly amazing colors throughout the design! It is wildly graphic! The designs are executed with a maximum sense of artistic balance! This design of this bank is a real visual work of art! The designer of this bank was obviously a powerful & wonderful graphic artist! The bank is nice enough on its own. But, we even have the original cardboard box for the bank. The box has slight wear, come creases, some wrinkles, numerous bends at the top end, There is a tear at the top left corner & another tear just in from the top right corner. There are two small pinholes in the top of the box. The box is 100% complete. There are no missing parts & no chips to the cardboard. The precise condition of this exceptionally choice & all original tin mechanical bank is clearly shown in the pics. The bank measures approximately 7 3/16" long by 3 7/8"" wide by 4 5/8" tall. In over 42 years of buying mechanical banks this is, by far, the most beautiful design that I have ever seen on a Japanese tin mechanical bank!We guarantee this item to be original as described & we offer a full & prompt refund if you are not satisfied & if the item is returned in the same condition within 3 days of receipt.
