I am not a expert on soda machines, but I did a lot of research on this unit after I purchased it about 2 years ago.  I was told the Galaxie fountain head is VERY hard to find, and a very collectable item, I bought the machine because I just loved the cool, funky 60's look of the Galaxie fountain head. The 2 Coke collectables/restoration companys I contacted quoted a value of around 2000$  just for the Galaxie head. What it is worth on todays weird economic market who knows? The Galaxie fountain head lights up when turned on, it is white now, any colored bulb could be put in it for different looks. The fountain head is mounted on a Scottsman flake ice maker, and the ice maker is working great! I attached a water hose to the inlet, and had flake ice coming out of the machine within 5 minutes of starting it up. (I was surprised that it could freeze the water to ice so quickly)  I took a video of the icemaker turned on, you can watch the clip at:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfoN2VCr4-k The machine being from 1960 is in pretty darn good shape, the machine is very presentable as is, but others may want to repaint it to be perfect. The top of the cabinet has missing paint spots, there is a fin missing from the front lower grill, and one of the inlet line holes on the side was crudely made bigger sometime in the past. If you want a super neat VERY 60's, super funky looking soda machine for  your game room, home theater or retro buisness, this is one!  As I said the ice maker is working great, to use the soda head you will need to hookup a standard soda fountain dispenser setup.  This auction is pickup only, if you want it shipped you will have to make ALL shipping arrangments and pay ALL shipping fees. I do know a person who builds shipping crates, and can crate this soda machine up for 200$. If you want it crated, buyer must pay the crating fee of 200$. I am willing to drop the unit off at a shipping terminal that is within 25 miles of my home in Santa Clara, Ca. if the auction buyer has made and paid for shipping arrangments.
